Barbara Ann Caldwell, age 72, passed away peacefully in her home in Lanham, MD with her family next to her side on Sunday, August 9th, 2020. She was born on May 14th, 1948, at Prince George’s Hospital in Cheverly, MD, to the late Ralph and Loraine Roy. She was a 1966 graduate of Duval High School. She married George Caldwell on December 20th, 1972, in Upper Marlboro, MD. She worked as a secretary for 20+ years and then retired to take care of her parents until their passing. Barbara truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures: chatting and spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed the outside wildlife, especially birds and flowers. Barbara had an uncanny ability to connect with people in a deep and positive way. She will be missed so many. She is survived by her husband, George Caldwell, and daughter, Amanda Erin “Mandy” Caldwell, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Douglas “Dougie” Kirkwood Price. She was a loving grandmother along with her husband who was a loving grandfather. A special thank you to Sergio, Marie, Marco, Grayson, Lloyd, and loyal neighbors. Family, friends, and others whose lives Barbara touched are invited to Gasch’s Funeral Home, P.A., 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, MD 20781, on Sunday, August 16th, 2020, from 3 to 7 p.m. to reminisce, grieve and support each other in this time of loss.
