Allan Richard Baker, 67, of Goldsboro, MD passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2015, at his home. He was born on April 4, 1948, in Springfield, IL, to the late Richard and Glenna Baker. Allan was a 1966 graduate of DuVal High School, Lanham, and the Cincinnati School of Mortuary Science. In his youth Allan had been a bat boy for the Washington Senators. He went on to play for the Senators' farm team. He was a US Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. Allan loved baseball of course, but also enjoyed fishing and outdoors. He is survived by his wife of 42 years Martha Baker of Goldsboro, daughter Kelly Dixon and husband Ronnie, Jr. and granddaughters Kendall and Kamryn Dixon all of Greensboro and sister Denise Wink of Orlando, FL. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 4 from 7 to 9 PM in the Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro. A graveside service at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery is pending.
