About	Lawrence "Larry" Tyler Bassett, 56, of Frederick, MD and Naples, FL, died April 15, 2013 at Homewood at Crumland Farms in Frederick. Born April 3, 1957 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of Dorothy Lipscombe Bassett of Port Richey, FL, and the late Louis Tyler Bassett. Larry was a graduate of University of Maryland School of Architecture and was employed by NVR, Inc. as their Director of Architectural Services since 1989. In addition to his mother, Larry is survived by his brother, James Bassett and wife, Sandy, of Oklahoma City, OK; his partner of 21 years, Terrence "Terry" Ruppert and his family: Terry's parents Thomas and Elaine Ruppert of LaVale, MD, who Larry thought of as his second parents; brother, Thomas Ruppert and his wife, Rebecca, also of LaVale; sister, Nicole Malony and husband, Kevin, of Winchester, VA; nieces, Ami and Kelli Bassett, and nephews Zachary Ruppert, Reid Malony, and Grant Malony. Terry would like to thank the staff of Homewood for their love, support, and care. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Larry's name to University of Maryland School of Medicine, Office of Development; Attn: Patricia Bates, 31 S. Greene St., Room 301B, Baltimore, MD 21201. These funds will help support the Integrative Care Team at the University of Maryland Medical Center. This is a special group that provided live, soothing music therapy for Larry during his long hospital stay.
