| About Me | Married, divorced...and after the divorce, I packed everything I could fit into my Toyota Tercel, strapped a single futon to the roof of the car, and drove across country to Boston, MA. I had worked as an Orthopedic surgical scrub in Santa Barbara for a wonderful hand surgeon there, but needed a change in life after the divorce. So I left. Boston was good for me, and taught me a lot about developing a thicker skin, and making an independent life for myself. I decided to finally finish my B.A. in Political Science and then went on to law school. I love the East Coast still, and miss the fall, but now we're back where "the sun shines most the time and the feeling is layback." I found my husband in Peru...for those of you who really knew me back then, it shouldn't surprise you. I became the mother of four the day I married my husband Jose. I adore my kids, and I'm lucky enough to say that they love me back. I have one of my sons with me, but I'm hoping to bring the girls over as soon as they can get visas. I think about SB often and sometimes I wonder what it would be like to go back there. We're all likely to be virtual strangers to each other at this point, but we did share 4 of the most formative years of our lives. I'm grateful to have survived that time 'cause it wasn't easy. And to anyone reading this, thank you for every knowing smile you ever gave in an especially boring class, or for not being mean when you could've been, and for being one of the crowd that I once belonged to at a Charger football game.
