About January 6,1959-April 19, 2014, age 55, of Santa Barbara, California, passed away early in the morning hours of 4/19 after a long, heroic battle with myelofibrosis. She is finally at rest in the everloving arms of our Eternal Father.

Monique was born in Paris, France. She grew up in Montgomery, Alabama, Springfield, Virginia, Vandenberg AFB, California, and Santa Barbara, where she attended Mountain View Elementary, Goleta Valley Jr High, and Dos Pueblos High (where she graduated in 1977). Monique was voted her class Homecoming Queen! She then attended U.C. Berkeley and graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. In 1984, at a New Year's Eve party, Monique met Terry DeMaria. It was love at first sight! God blessed them both with four beautiful children who were all born in Santa Barbara. She was graced with a sparkling smile and a sunny, positive personality. She always had kind words and gentle manners to all who were lucky enough to know her. She was one-of-a-kind and we will all miss her so very much.

Cherishing her memory are her loving husband of 29 years, Terry; children Daniel, Richie, Anthony, Pamela, and daughter-in-law Liz; brother Dan Henderson; sister Bebe and brother-in-law Dave Carrico; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins; and her mother-in-law Chris DeMaria. Monique was blessed with two granddaughters, Soji and Sylvia DeMaria.

Monique was preceded in death by her parents Daniel and Enza Henderson as well as sister Pamela Henderson.Visitation will be at the Welch- Ryce-Haider Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, April 22,2014 from I to 5 PM.
