Jim was an all CIF, All Channel League Football Player. He also threw the Shot put quite well. He went on to star at North Texas State. He was not only a great Athlete, he had the respect of his teammates and all the opposition. His name was known throughout Santa Barbara County during this time. He dominated our opponents so overwhelmingly that they set up their game plans around him. He was a positive example to all underclassmen and motivated others to play at an elevated level.
