As a member of the Army Signal Corps, Jeff was an enlisted Soldier, became an officer through Officer Candidate School, and retired from active duty as a Lieutenant Colonel. He had assignments in Georgia, Maryland, Texas, Oklahoma, Ohio, Washington D.C., Alaska, Korea, Colorado, Kansas, and New Jersey.
