Dobson High School Alumna and Local Brain Injury Physician
Featured on New Medical Website

(Phoenix AZ, Aug. 15, 2012) – Christina Kwasnica, MD, a Dobson High School alumna, has been selected to be featured on a new medical website, Barrow50.org.

Dr. Kwasnica is the medical director of the Neuro Rehabilitation Center at Barrow Neurological Institute located at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix. Under Dr. Kwasnica’s leadership, it is not uncommon to witness the miracle of a patient learning to walk or talk again at the center. Dr. Kwasnica graduated from Dobson High School in 1987.

“Barrow’s Neuro Rehab Center puts patients one step closer to reclaiming the lives they had before their injury,” says Dr. Kwasnica. “The most important service we can provide to our patients is the ability to help them become productive citizens again after their brain or spinal cord injury.”

St. Joseph’s Barrow Neurological Institute is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2012. The new interactive website is part of Barrow’s commemorative activities this year. Dr. Kwasnica is one of 50 special patients and doctors chosen to be interviewed for the website. Patients travel from all over the United States and the world for the special neurological expertise available at Barrow.

After graduating from Dobson High School, Dr. Kwasnica received her undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Arizona and then went on to complete her medical degree and medical residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation from Northwestern University.
