About Kay (Hambrecht) Larson, 71, of Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly of Saugus, MA, went to heaven on October 16, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. Kay made her mark on us forever, leaving cherished memories with her husband, Doug, their three daughters, their spouses, and six grandchildren. With her passing, we reflect on many ways which she brightened our lives. Kay is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Douglas; Karen, James, Chelsea and Cara Darling of Naperville, IL; Denise, David, Sydney and Abigail Cioffi of Everett, MA and Lisa, Peter, Adam and Katherine Modigliani of South Riding, VA. and loved nephew Adam Yacoub and his wife Meridith. She is also survived by her sister Elaina & Bill Johnson of Colebrook, NH, brother Peter and Laurel Hambrecht from Fort Worth, TX, and brother Philip & Nancy Hambrecht of Palm Coast, FL and Kay shared treasured memories with extended family of nephews, their wives and children.
Kay was preceded in death by her loving parents, Antoinette and Gordon Hambrecht, her sister Susan Hambrecht Dropkin, brothers William and Edward Hambrecht and her in-laws, Edith and Bengt Frederick Larson.
Kay Anne was born in Dexter, ME and graduated from Dexter High School where she was a member of the marching band with her brothers and sister. She moved to Newton, MA shortly after graduation where she started her career at NCR and met her husband. She and Doug settled in Saugus, MA and after many years at home with her family, she returned to work part time at Russo’s Candy where she worked for over 25 years. She also worked for 20 years at NE Regional Vocational School in Wakefield. Kay will always be remembered for her warmth, her smile and the countless friends she welcomed into her home until the day of her passing. Her passion for cooking and surrounding her table with her family will be cherished forever.
