About Me	Grew up in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, where I learned to swim in BiG Detroit, which was one of 412 lakes within a radius of 25 miles. Enjoyed being in Triple Trio singing group and winning State competition 4 times with an A rating. Enjoyed Girl Scouts with a group of girls that I grew up and graduated with. Learned to roller skate, water ski, and enjoy the park rec center learning to play ping pong and tennis. Went to college, first time riding on a train coming home on many week-ends. At college, I worked in the physical education department, sang with the Windy Hill Singers at Hootennany's. Our singing group went to Yellowstone and recorded an album, compliments of Yellowstone National Park. My years were extended out there to five as I worked from maid, to hostess to Mgr of the front desk and finally to rec director of Old Faithful Lodge - my field of expertise in college. From there it was on to teaching physical education and taking on the cheerleading, starting a dance group and meeting my husband, a fellow teacher. Our wedding was with most of our cheerleaders and basketball players at the wedding. Our first military Air Force Base was Limestone, Maine where I ate my first lobster and found out I was allergic to shell fish. From there it was Thailand where our precious daughter Karrie was born. Our next base was Virginia, to Hawaii, to Florida, back to Hawaii, to Illinois and finally our retirement in Florida. We bought a house while we were still in the Air Force and had jobs. Good thing as we took off 8 months when we both retired from our jobs to work on our 1950s house. Boredom set in and we were both back at work again - me working in administrative and marketing in the hot and humid Florida sun! Mark and I are now retired and have taken up RVing. We have traveled to 48 states, 11 Presidential Libraries and are on our 3rd RV. This summer we will head out to Yellowstone for a reunion and then over to MN for a month. We can not stay out any longer as we have to be back for my 97 year old father and our two grand kids - Kaelen and H...(read more)
