| About Me | Colonel Tom Stott retired from the U.S. Army in September 2002 after serving 26 years as an Infantry Officer. He is currently a Program Manager and Senior Huntsville Executive for Qinetiq-NA Mission Solutions Group. Previously he was a Corporate Vice President and Senior Huntsville Executive for Parsons Corporation; Assistant Vice President and Division Manager for Missile Defense and Space, SAIC in Huntsville; and Senior Analyst with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) where he served as head of the Operations Center for the Ground-based Midcourse Defense Program, part of the U.S. Ballistic Missile Defense System. Prior to retirement, Colonel Stott served as Deputy Director for Humanitarian Affairs and Landmine Policy in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy. In this assignment, Colonel Stott was the Lead Department of Defense Negotiator and Deputy Head of the U.S. Delegation to the Convention on Conventional Weapons in Geneva Switzerland. Colonel Stott was additionally responsible for initiating humanitarian demining programs in mine-afflicted countries throughout the world and was instrumental in establishing a humanitarian demining program with the Republic of Vietnam, the first Department of Defense program with Vietnam since the end of the war. Bragg, NC; Personnel Director and Executive Officer, U.S. Army Special Operations Force (Airborne) Europe, Bad Toelz, Germany; Assistant Professor of Military Science, Georgetown University, Washington DC; Company Commander, Company D, 1st Battalion, 1st Infantry Training Brigade, Ft. Benning, GA; Defensive Tactics Instructor, Command & Tactics Department, Ft. Benning, GA; and S2, Platoon Leader and Anti-Tank Platoon Leader, 1st Battalion, 13th Infantry, Baumholder, Germany. Colonel Stott has also served in Bosnia and Kosovo.
