It's our choice on saving the world for those that folllow us
The world is currently on course to exploit all its remaining fossil fuel resources, a prospect that would produce a "different, practically uninhabitable planet" by triggering a "low-end runaway greenhouse effect." This is the conclusion of a new scientific paper by Prof James Hansen, the former head of NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies and the world's best known climate scientist.

Saving the Farm
Beverly J. Hamilton (class of 58) has authored a recently released book entitled 'Saving the Farm' about her family's history. I (Les Blevins) (also class of 58) have read her well written book and recommend it to all Derby Alumni and I also recommend the mindset of saving the farm could be carried forward by Derby Alumni to a higher goal of saving the planet from the ravages of climate change. DHS Alumni Banquet!
The Derby High School Alumni Banquet is held every year on the second Saturday in May for all Alumni and soon to be graduates of DHS. Call Darrel Butterfield for more information on the Banquet and cost per person or couple.

It is a good way to meet up with old classmates and friends, And to make new friends as well. Just simply to have a good time from 5pm to 9pm.
