James L. "Jim" Thompson
Thompson, James L. "Jim" 11-23-1946 3-24-2008 Age 61 Devoted family man, talented carpenter, mechanic, fisherman, outdoorsman, golfer, Viking fan and jelly bean lover. Passed away Monday, March 24, 2008 after a long courageous battle with esophageal cancer. Retired employee of North Star Steel Company. Decorated Vietnam veteran. Past commander VFW POST 8752. Lifetime member VFW POST 8752 and American Legion Post 98. Preceded in death by mother, Eunice J. Howe and sister, Sonja Rae. Survived by father, James O.; wife, Sandy; sons, Adrian (Carrie), Jesse (Lynn) and Shawn (special friend, April); grandchildren, JJ, Christian, Stevie, Sonja, Rylee, Zach and Trevor. Memorial Service Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 12 Noon at KOK FUNERAL HOME, 1201 Portland Avenue, St. Paul Park, MN (651-459-2875) with a visitation one hour prior to service. Inurnment private. Memorials preferred.
