I was a Radioman (Radiotelegraph Operator) on the USCGC Escanaba homeport in New Bedford, MA. We served on Ocean Station duty in the North Atlantic for about 30 days at sea. We provided communications services to aircraft and ships crossing the Atlantic. We provided rescue services for ships in distress.
