Class of 2001
Army, 14 Years

Gerald has served in the United States Army for fourteen years. Ten of those years were served in an active duty status. His first assignment was with the 2nd infantry division while in South Korea after he completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson South Carolina and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Huachuca Arizona and finally Airborne School at Fort Bennington Georgia. After Korea he was assigned to the 319th MI Battalion at Fort Bragg North Carolina during which he was deployed to Iraq in 2005. Upon returning from Iraq Gerald was assigned to the 7th Special Forces Group at Fort Bragg were he deployed to numerous countries and conducted combat operations as a Special Operations Team Leader. After completing ten years on active duty he became a Department of Defense Contractor and enlisted in the Georgia Army National Guard. He now lives in Ault Colorado and is currently transitioning to the 19th Special Forces Group to continue his service.

Our Del Norte High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done! Not everyone gets to come home for the holidays and we want our Del Norte High School Military to know that they are loved and appreciated. All of us in Del Norte are proud of our military alumni and want to thank them for risking their lives to protect our country!
