He served as a Paratrooper in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division. He He lived most of his life in Orange City. He retired and worked as a brick mason. He Loved to fishing. He earned two letters as a Deland High Bulldog.

Tom Hatchett '70 said:

I lost track of Mike after high school. We were pretty close, literally, as we played side by side on the right side of the offensive line in Jr. High and High School. We rode home together after practice in football an track. He needed some money and sold me a surf board for $50 about our in 10th grade. I had a lot of fun with that. We swam a Blue Springs in the summer.

I am sorry we have lost him and that I did not stay closer.
