About Me	A few years ago, my daughter was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes. It was a devastating event in our lives that left us asking all sorts of questions like "What is Juvenile Diabetes?" "Will our daughter have a normal life?" "Will our daughter survive?" What we needed were answers and where we found them was in non-profit organizations such as the Diabetic Youth Foundation. These wonderful people were not only able to help us learn to take care of our daughter, but they also provided programs (like summer camp for diabetic children) to help our daughter feel like a normal kid. Now it is time for me to return the favor. With my legal background, I felt that the best way for me to help was to work directly with the government as an advocate who could create and advance policy that is beneficial to disabled children and the organizations that support them. This is why I am working towards completing a Masters Degree in Public Policy and Administration alongside a Juris Doctorate, so that I will be an effective advocate in government ...(read more)
