About Alfred Neil Brown III

December 20, 1965 – May 23, 2025

Alfred Neil Brown III, known to all as Neil, passed away on May 23, 2025, at Integris Health Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 59. Born on December 20, 1965, in Englewood, Colorado, Neil lived a life marked by deep passion, quiet dedication, and a love for both the skies and the people closest to him.

From the moment he took his first plane ride at age 12 in 1978, with his uncle Charlie Brown, Neil knew he was destined to fly. A few years later, he began working as a lineboy at Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport—sweeping hangars, fueling planes, and soaking up everything he could about aviation. During this time, mentor Glen Crabtree helped guide and deepen Neil's love and knowledge of flying, setting the course for what would become a lifelong and

accomplished career.

Neil graduated from Deer Creek High School in 1984. Over the years, he earned the respect and admiration of the aviation community, building a reputation for excellence and professionalism. He flew private and experimental jets—often as a single pilot—and served high-profile clients ranging from former First Ladies of the United States to world-renowned musicians such as Toby Keith and the Rolling Stones. Just as important to him as flying was sharing his knowledge with others, mentoring many young pilots on their own journeys into the skies.

Despite all of his travels, Neil’s favorite place was always home. A natural problem-solver with an insatiable hunger for knowledge, he was always fixing something, always learning. He found joy in simple things—spending time with family and friends, exchanging stories, and creating lifelong memories. These included taking Max on his first hike in the mountains, letting Sam be his co-pilot for a day, and traveling the country with Dana by his side as his true co-pilot in life.

Neil is survived by his beloved wife, Dana; his two sons, Sam and Max; two stepdaughters, Brooke (Colby) and Jaci (Joe Van); and five cherished grandchildren: Ryder, Adison, Asher, Aspen, and Boston. He is also survived by his mother, Sigrid; his siblings, Mark (Desirae) and Cindy (Javier); his uncles Charlie, Lance, and Justin; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Neil Brown II.

Neil’s absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him—especially within the aviation community, where his contributions, mentorship, and steady presence will leave a lasting legacy.

A service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on June 10th at the Sundance Airport in Yukon, Oklahoma.
