John Forbes Davenport Jr., a/k/a "Pickles", a lifelong resident of Dedham. John was born in Dedham and he graduated from Dedham High School in 1947. John owned and operated Davenport's Texaco and Davenport's Shell gas stations until his retirement in 1994. John was an avid sports fan who had season’s tickets to the Bruins. John also served as an usher at St. Anne’s Church in Readville. He was the loving husband of the late Eileen A. Davenport and is survived by his children, Kathie (Class of 1980), John F. Davenport, III, and Denise; three granddaughters, Rachelle (Class of 2004), Hannah and Jenna; and a great grandson, Logan Daniel.
