4 years right out of high school onboard the USS Halsey CG-23. WestPac cruises throughout the western Pacific, stops in Asia, Australia, and other places. Naval Reserve for several years later serving with the 4th Marine Tank Battalion and other 4th division USMC units. Played with them until I just got too old for it.

Was activated for for 18 months in support of OIF 3 (Iraq War) in '04-'06 (was awarded a Bronze Star Medal for action near Bahgdad Iraq. Plan on staying until Dec. 29th, 2014 (Mandatory retirement) Will have served 41 yrs. 3 months and 19 days.
