About Me For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live. For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. (romans 8:13-14) My hope is to continue to die to Self, as I strive for God to permeate my life and heart. I pray the Lord will find me at the end of myself, where my identity is wrapped up in Him and no other. I abandon plans I have created for my life daily - desiring for my heart to be open & obedient to whatever God asks of me. The challenge is: letting go of my selfish, soulish desires; trying to please myself & others; living a life of indulgence & pleasure-seeking; walking in fear & doubt; forsaking my identity as a joint heir with Christ Jesus & Child of the Most High God; and releasing my struggle to be in control. This life is not mine own or about me. As I hope on the eternal, I simultaneously war with the presence of discontentment & desires in my life that are not from God. In my journey, I am constantly reminded ALL serves a purpose to deepen my relationship with Christ Jesus and grow me to maturity. My destiny is to establish & expand the Kingdom of God, serving Him solely & fully. I pray I will become a faithful, focused servant and steward of all that God has portioned me. Grace abounding, I choose to live for the Lord... seeking to become ALL I am destined to be as His servant (Luke 12:48) ".. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked." Life is not meant to be predictable, fair, or pragmatic. Yet, I struggle to wish it otherwise... As G.K. Chesterton put it, "The Christian ideal has not been tried and found wanting. It has been found difficult and left untried." Heavenly Father, I pray You will use the broken pieces of my life to create a place of beauty, a sanctuary of worship for You. I pray You continue the good work You have begun in me... Teach me to live before You moment by moment. Guard my heart, as I am constantly challenged with choosing to see myself as You do and not as the world does. May I begin to be the steward of Your temple as you portioned. Amen! Borrowed from Adam Garrett: "I'm seeking to engage in battle against physical and spiritual forces of darkness (Jeremiah 51:20, Romans 13:10-14, Ephesians 6:10-20, Matthew 11:12) instead of falling into comfort and complacency, seeking discipline instead of foolishness (Proverbs 1:7). I'm seeking the Lord’s will, rather than mine (John 12:23-50); His empowerment over my incompetence without Him (2 Corinthians 3:4-6); obedience over my own notions of sacrifice and religious works (Isaiah 1, 1 Samuel 15, Micah 6:6-8) and over the praise of man (Acts 5:25, 5:41, 7:51-53, Psalm 69:9); freedom in Christ from slavery to sin (Romans 6-8); growth in vital time of replenishment (2 Chronicles 36:21, Psalm 23:2-3) rather than being duped into the pride that I can serve the Lord on my own (John 15:5); Light over darkness (John 3:19, Acts 26:18, 1 Peter 2:9); Life over death (Romans 5-8); Truth over lies (Romans 1:25, 1 John 1:6); to look to the cross instead of looking to my appetites (Luke 12:19, 1 Corinthians 2:2, 15:32); meaning over pursuit after dust in the wind (Ecclesiastes 2); faith like a child amidst walking hand in hand with Jesus over a confusing network of morality (Matthew 18: 2-4, John 15:5), etc.! Please pray for aid in seeking them all the more, because I'm a terrible steward of God's grace as I give in to foolish wickedness in all...(read more)
