About Me	Noel McIntosh is a senior international reproductive health professional with extensive basic science and clinical research experience, including 14 years as a bench researcher studying control mechanisms in steroid synthesis.. Over the years, Dr. McIntosh has worked globally in more than 40 developing countries, primarily Africa and Asia, in the fields of family planning and contraceptive research (acceptability and feasibility studies and program effectiveness evaluations); cervical cancer prevention; infection prevention and medical waste management; health education (performance- based learning and e-learning); and health policy and capacity building; and human resource development. For 16 years (1988-2004), he served as president and director of the JHPIEGO Corporation, a nonprofit affiliate of Johns Hopkins University. Under his leadership, JHPIEGO grew from a small, narrowly focused family planning project to a large, multifaceted organization working to improve the health of women and their families living in the poorest countries globally through reproductive health education, clinical training, capacity building and operations research. Dr. McIntosh also has dedicated more than 35 years to academic service, having held faculty appointments in five universities (Harvard, Johns Hopkins, New Mexico, Tulane and West Virginia) and professorships in four. Co-author of over 70 articles and co-author/editor of 14 books and manuals, Dr. McIntosh has presented his work internationally at numerous conferences and symposia, has served on several WHO committees and working groups, and was a member of the USAID/CONRAD Technical Advisory Group from 1991-1999.
