About Me	Since leaving high school, my life experiences have been vast. I have worked in a number of fields, but predominately in the administrative field. I have worked in energy, construction, manufacturing, legal, automotive, and non-profit. While helping my middle son experiment to find his life's work, I joined the Civil Air Patrol, the auxiliary of the Air Force. There, I earned military ratings in personnel and finance, took classes at the Air Force Academy and Air University, became rated as a Scaner/Observer on the flight crew performing search and rescue missions within the continent of the United States, as well as classified missions for various departments of the government. I was awarded the fifth highest medal of commendation by the Oklahoma Air National Guard in 1993. II became active in the veteran community in 1994, and have served at the local state and national level since that time. I have been on the National Board of Directors of the Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America, Inc,. since 2000, and have served as the National Secretary since 2004. I led the Department of Oklahoma Blue Star Mothers of America from 2006-2008, and served on the National Board of Directors for that organization for three years, one of which was the National Secretary. I love to cook, and have done catering and receptions for several years, as well as published three cookbooks. My husband of 41 years is a Central High School graduate and served in the Navy in Vietnam, our mdidle son is a Desert Shield/Desert Storm veteran, and our youngest son has been in the US Army since 2006, where he serves in the 1st Calvary Division as a decorated combat medic. He has served two tours in Iraq, and will re-deploy again next year. In 2010, I returned to the classroom to become a Veterans Service Officer, working with veterans and their families to get their veterans benefits they have earned.
