About Me	Tons, and nothing much. Started school at PSU WB and hung around there for 3 years while working mostly at the Tudor Bookshop in Kingston; Met a guy named Bill from the Hershey area on a Norwegian online game (what are the odds?) during junior year of college at PSU-Wilkes-Barre the night he was shipping off to Texas for active duty in the Army; flew to meet him 4 months later and married him 10 days later (not advised as a good method for pleasing your parents). We celebrate our 17th anniversary this week, May 13, 2010. Lived a year in Ft. Hood, TX, working in a mall selling shoes and living in a 2 room apartment in a lovely neighborhood where I was constantly mistaken for a prostitute. Seriously, the place is a pit. Bill shipped to Korea for a year the day after our 1st anniversary, and I went to Penn State Main to finish my degree and appease the parents in the same time; lucked out that my best friend since kindergarten, Lisa Davenport (now Jenkins) had spent a year in Scotland, so was also finishing undergrad a year late, and got to room with my best friend and spend a year revisiting and saying goodbye to childhood; had the opportunity to visit Korea for a few weeks; graduated on my 2nd anniversary, also the day Bill returned from Korea; spent next 2 years in Fort Leavenworth, KS where Bill was stationed (no, NOT in the prison!) and spent 2 years working for the Army and having any work ethic I possed drained completely from me, though I was chosen to represent my office at many international and secure conferences full of generals and powerful people from all over the world, which was slightly cool, but technically WAY below my pay scale. Moved to Dallas, TX (irony of ironies) in 1997 when Bill left the Army; built a house in the suburb of Carrollton, TX in 1998; worked a series of fairly meaningless jobs before settling into a family optometry business for 5 years where we agreed I would be underpaid but not expected to demonstrate any work ethic; as Bill moved into the field of technical/internet/merchant credit card security, I quit my job to hold down the fort at home; decided about 10 years ago to forgo children and instead brought home our beloved English Bulldog, Iggy; Bill's now a Director for Chase credit card's credit card processing security department, and I'm doing a lot of nothing and everything, letting Bill work hard at his job without having to worry about anything when he comes home at night. We have a nice group of long-term (10+ years) friends with whom we regularly game--cards, boardgames, tabletop rpgs, and occasionally even socialize; I learned how to ice skate, hockey-style (Bill plays hockey), and have tried my hand at a strange variety of things, from scuba to parasailing and jetskiing when we discovered a rabid love for cruises. I turned 38 last month, and have done so much, without coming very far in many traditional ways. I opted out of career and children, and focused on marriage, friends, and domestic bliss (ok, contentment; we're all too old to believe the bliss crap). My parents, thank God, are still both alive and relatively well (though Dad had 5 heart attacks while I was in college); I have 2 brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, and 7 neices and nephews, all thanks to Bill's wonderful family (I'm an only child, for those who didn't know). My father-in-law was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident 2 years ago, but my life has otherwise been mercilessly free of Big Bads.
