About Me	Since HS, I got really good at running I went to college on a cross country scholarship. I used that limited talent and turned it into an 8 year pro running career. I was able to travel the world, which would never gave happened had I listened to my former track coach at DCHS. His doubt motivated me and actually made me achieve success. At the end of my running career, I made a big change. I moved to California, with the intention of returning to my home in Georgia. I decided I would apply for a job with the California Highway Patrol (remember "CHiPs"), which is one of the toughest law enforcement jobs in the United States to get. Well, I made it after a 6 month police academy. While at the academy, I met my now ex wife. Upon graduation from the academy I was assigned to work in Los Angeles. I have been through riots, earthquakes, the worst gangs, murders, vehicle fatalities and some boring stuff. I transferred to northern California in 1995 and have been here ever since. Along with my regular duties, I am a range instructor, taser instructor, tactical specialist, radar instructor, lidar instructor and field training officer. It's hard to believe, but I have spent the last 20 years as a CHP officer and I'm looking forward to it ending in 2015. I have had many more ups than downs since...(read more)
