Michael R. Vavra, 63, of Kent, died Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Akron City Hospital Medical Center.
He was born October 11, 1951 in Bedford, to Robert and Henrietta (Martini) Vavra. Michael retired from AT&T as a cable splicer. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Kent and an active participant in the Bell Choir. Michael enjoyed woodworking, water colors and electronics.
He is survived by his wife, Lauren (Pia) Vavra, whom he married on October 12, 1985; sons, Andrew Vavra of Crofton, MD, Robert Vavra of Crofton, MD, Alexander Vavra of Kent; daughter, Michelle Vavra of Kent; brothers, James (Leona) Vavra of Tucson, AZ, Steven (Susan) Vavra of Marietta, GA; sister, Roberta (Jerry) Stuber of Canal Winchester; step-mother, Helen Vavra of Bedford.
Calling hours will be held from 10 until Noon, Saturday May 16th at Faith Lutheran Church in Kent with the funeral services at Noon with Pastor Kent Wartick officiating. Burial will be held at St. Jacobs Cemetery in Plain Twp. (North Canton). Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, 931 E. Main Street, Kent, OH 44240.
