John A. Gurin, 60, of Akron, passed away unexpectedly on May 1, 2012.
He was a lifelong area resident and was employed at Cargill Inc., where he was a machine operator. John served his country honorably in the Army during Vietnam.
He was an avid bowler and golfer, whose greatest joy in life was his family, especially his grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his father, John and brother, David, he is survived by his mother, Ina Jane; daughter, Brandi; sisters, Lynn Navarrett and Rebecca (Ronald) Costilow; brother, Bob (Nora); grandchildren, Roen and Gianna; niece, Kelly (Allan) Hoppenworth; nephews, Rob (Jenn) Gurin, Nick and Scott Navarrett.
Funeral service 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 8 at the Ciriello and Carr Falls Chapel, 810 Portage Tr., Rev. Adam Marquette officiating. Interment at Western Reserve National Cemetery. Friends may call Monday, 3 to 7 p.m.
