About Me	Left CCHS the first day of what would have been my Sr. year and joing the Merchant Marine. Took basic training on Catalina Island in CA. and there to Radio Officers Training School on Gallups Island in Boston harbor. My first weekend leave in Boston I met the girl that I later married and am still married to. Made one voyage to Guam carrying supplies, ammunition and a deckload of belly tanks for the B-29's. The day after VJ stay I sailed from Norfolk, VA on a troop ship with a load of German POW's who we took to LeHarve, France and then up to Bremerhaven, Germany where we picked up GI&#...(read more)
