Robert was living in Gaston, Wash, Oregon at the time of his death. Robert was married to Helen Grotheer Smith on May 5, 1965 in Springdale, Arkansas. They made their home in the Avery and Cushing areas, before moving to Gaston in 1969. Robert worked as a carpenter for over 42 years and was dedicated to his work, but he also loved to play golf, play the guitar and taking care of his many pets. Graveside services were held at 2pm, Tuesday, December 11, 2001, in the Cushing Fairlawn Cemetery with Pastor Bill Allton, Jr. Officiating.
