About Me	The last 20+ years, yeeesh...I went to Cal Berkeley and thought I might write and be a journalist (or be an architect or teach high school or study Asian art history...clearly I couldn't decide!. I did some writing for an SF Asian newspaper and interned at KPIX but ultimately began work life doing what has always been natural -- illustration and design. I also worked in a number of positions early on mainly as a writer in development and major gifts (i.e., fundraising) for higher education and the arts. Eventually I put the design and writing together at the creative agency in SF that I've helped grow for the last 13 years, Chen Design Associates -- adding to that motherhood along the way. Currently, raising our kids and volunteering in the school are my main work and the professional writing/design work is part-time. A highlight was my husband and I took a couple of months off of work to travel from Spain through Turkey before the parenting adventure began. We also bought a fixer-upper in Oakland where we are never "finished"; and we've been active in the church...(read more)
