Steven Leroy Smith, 62 of Bemidji lost his battle with Leukemia at home with his family by his side Monday, April 29, 2013. A Memorial Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Monday, May 6, 2013 at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji, MN. He was born August 6, 1950 in Bagley, Minnesota the son of Ralph and Mary Smith. He was baptized and confirmed in Alida, MN. Steve went to grade school in Alida and graduated from Crookston High School. He married Jaclyn Johnson February 20, 1971 in Crookston, MN and just celebrated their 42nd Anniversary this year. He enjoyed auctions, buying storage lockers, restoring old vehicles, riding his snowmobile, trike and 4-wheeling. He enjoyed working with his skidsteer and cutting wood. He was very proud of his grandchildren and loved to harass them and spend time with them goofing around. He is survived by his wife:Jaclyn Smith of Bemidji Daughter:Chrissy (Jake) Son:Dan (Meghan) Grandchildren:Brittany, Amber and Ryan Sisters:Linda (Larry) Debbie (Jewel) Sharon Vick (Rod) Sue (Mark) Brother:Randy And many cousins, nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents and many aunts and uncles.
