About Event
Hi Classmates,
Due to a large number of alumni being on vacation/out of town the weekend of July 26th, the reunion date has been changed to October 25th. Please feel free to contact either myself or Karen Weidman Gregory with any questions, comments or suggestions. We look forward to seeing you in the Fall!!
DETAILS:
- Date: Saturday, October 25, 2014
- Time: 7pm - 12am
- Where: Sheraton Hotel in Langhorne, right near Oxford Valley mall
- Cost: $65 per person
This does NOT include alcohol**
- Please purchase tickets through PayPal by sending to Christine Hartpence at cnhartpence@hotmail.com or by check. Please contact Christine for her address. 215-375-2530
- RSVP: Please click on the RSVP link so that we know who is planning to attend
ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
- Food:
Food choices are still being selected and we may have an additional survey to collect preferences.
- Drinks:
Note that cocktails will be available for purchase but we are not having an "open bar." The decision was made based mostly on liability factors - and of course - we want our friends to enjoy themselves but ultimately arrive home safely. :)
- Rooms:
We have secured several room with the Sheraton at a discounted rate of $169 plus tax per night. When booking your room, be sure to mention Council Rock 25th Reunion to ensure your discount.
- Music:
We are booking a DJ and the game plan will be to have fun non-danceable music playing at a volume that encourages us all to talk and catch up with friends. Later in the evening (9:30 or so) we will open it up to people who want to dance. But we promise - absolutely NO electric slide. ;) We will also share the song list and take requests.
QUESTIONS?
Please reach out to Christine Hartpence or Karen Weidman Gregory. We are very much looking forward to planning a fun event for all of us to enjoy.
Thank you!

We were a class of 800+ students maybe 200 responded (which is a small percentage) but as Mindy pointed out people have a tendency not to rsvp to events until the last minute especially reunions. While a reunion sounds great, paying $75 per person for the Sheraton may not be in the average family's budget given our economy. Former classmates want to be able to bring their partners and/or spouses as well. A more low key, inexpensive event or revenue would have been a better idea than an extravagant affair at the Sheraton that requires such a substantial down payment. Now event planners are becoming stressed, but given the turn out of the last reunion this all should have been taken into consideration before putting money down on such an event. At this point instead of stressing about obtaining enough money for a down payment, having to continually post trying to get people to buy tickets that the event should be moved to something more simple and inexpensive. Would not the picnic in the park that is free suffice for a great reunion for our former classmates and their families? In addition the recent comments by Jay about what can and cannot be posted on our facebook reunion site or where certain comments regarding the reunion should be posted seem over the top. Let people post what they want on the cr face book page unless it's rude, obnoxious or cruel than of course remove. Thank you for your time everyone. Hope we can find a way to have a great reunion, with a great showing.
