About Me	You can dance the dream with your body on. I was born in Laramie, Wyoming. Cowboy songs come easy to me. Top 5 Regrets of the Dying - 5. I wish I let myself be happier. 4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends. 3. I wish I had the courage to express my feelings. 2. I wish I hadn't worked so hard. 1. I wish I had the courage to live a life true to myself rather than the life others expected of me. During the formative years of my life I was raised one mile from the Mexican border outside the town of San Ysidro. Often I was the only 'Gringa' in my class through 5th grade. My family attended a church where we were one of 5 Caucasian families. Most of the 50 people who attended the church were born and raised in Mexico. My heart still grieves that fact that I didn't become fluent in Spanish. I became an 'Oregonian' at the age of 12. Leaving Southern California was hard, especially when my Sparrow Hawk, Stadium, escaped his cage at an overnight stay after we passed the Grapevine north of California. I'll never forget the day my brother Paul came home from school with a black eye. Although at the time we were sworn enemies, my heart was broken for him. (Tears are welling in my eyes even now as I write that.) I had a baby at the age of 16. My mother was so ashamed of me she lied to our family about why I was leaving Cottage Grove to attend a better school in California. Eternally I am grateful to Pastor Roy Hicks, junior for suggesting to my mom during a 'counseling' session that perhaps I should go to a home for unwed mothers in Los Angeles. His suggestion saved my life. I still cling to the awesome memories from that adventure. I still do not know what happened to my son. I hope he finds me someday. I married my soul mate in 1978. We will happily grow old together with the memories of the journey. I am so in love with the life you have given me, my love: good, bad, and blessed. My children have been the greatest joy to me. And even though they are grown and growing - I will always be their mother. My heart is warmed at the thought of them. Wade and I could not be prouder of each of them. I am grateful for their love. I love my two brothers, their wives and one nephew (whom at this writing I have yet to meet in person) and my sister and her husband. I am so thankful for your friendship. My parents love us. Dad from Heaven. Mom from Vashon. Thank you for the legacy of love. Considering that God made the animals first, animals of all kinds make me happy. From cleaning their poo to kisses and snuggles, my dogs complete a big part of who I am: Of who God created me to be. My vocation is to help and serve. Compassion and hospitality are my gifts.
