Date of Passing Jun 22, 2012
About Harry passed away on June 22, 2012 after battling an extremely evasive cancer. Here is the obit from 6/26/2012 Corvallis GT:
1943-2012
Harry Madison Williams died June 22, 2012.
He was born in December of 1943 in Oklahoma City to Neta Jo (Jackson) and Harry Cleveland Williams. The family moved for a short time to Chicago, where Harry's sister was born, before locating to Corvallis where Harry began school. His parents were divorced and his mother married Harland L. Pratt.
Harry graduated from Corvallis High School in 1962, along with many classmates who attended Corvallis schools together since elementary. In 1963 he joined the Air Force and was stationed in New Mexico and in Libya, where he worked on jet engines. He started his college education in the service and returned to Corvallis after his release from active duty to graduate from Oregon State University with degrees in electrical engineering and business in 1971.
Harry started his career with Pacific Power in Portland, later moving to Tenino, Wash., where he worked at the Centralia Power Plant, and then to the Jim Bridger Plant in Rock Springs, Wyo. There he married Christine Blasi. He retired from the electrical power industry after 30 years in 2002, when he returned to Corvallis.
Harry had an engineer's mentality and could make sense of reams of data, so he was happy spending time on a computer. He carried on a lifelong love affair with fast cars, at one time racing stock cars and recently realizing his dream of a red sports car.
Harry was preceded in death by his father, Harry C. Williams, mother Neta Jo Pratt and sister Suzanne Strauss.
He is survived by wife Christine, stepson Jacob Blasi and wife Crystal, stepdaughter Brigida Blasi, granddaughter Jennica Blasi and stepfather Harland Pratt.
At Harry's request there will be no services. Memorial donations may be made to Benton Hospice Service or Senior Dog Rescue of Philomath in care of McHenry Funeral Home, 206 N.W. Fifth St., Corvallis, OR 97330.
