About	June 21, 1944-March 16, 2011 Beloved sister and aunt, Barbara Huston, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon in Albany, Oregon after battling cancer for nearly a year. The daughter of Doris and Karl Huston, she was born and raised in Corvallis, Oregon. After receiving her degree in education from Oregon Sate University, she moved to Gold Beach where she taught at the elementary school level for many years. Upon retirement, she enjoyed and kept busy with volunteer work. Barbara's parents and brother, Jon, preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Dirk Killen of Albany. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made to the local animal shelter or to the Curry County Health Foundation. A memorial service was held at Bethany Lutheran Church in Gold Beach on Wednesday, April 6 at 11 a.m. Barbara wll be remembered by her many friend for her leadership and organizational talents. She served on the board, and often as president of several organizations including Delta Kappa Gamma, the Curry County Hospial Auxilary, Curry Health Foundation, and Bethany Lutheran Church Council. She was also admired for her creativity. She single-handedly decorated for numerous community events. Barbara was faithful member of Bethany Lutheran Church. She was well known for her love of cats.
