About	September 7, 1944-September 2, 1993 Mavis June Bassett, 48, died last Thursday at her Corvallis residence. She was born in Fargo, ND to Albert & Ruth Barclay Wagner. After spending several years in Dallas, she graduated from Corvallis High School in 1962 and attended the University of Oregon. In 1967, she married Gary Lee Bassett in Corvallis. She joined the staff of Oregon State University as an administrative assistant in 1974 and spent most of the last 19 years in the Department of Civil Engineering. Mrs. Bassett was a member of both the American Rose Society and the Corvallis Rose Society where she served for a time as editor of the "Bonnie Briar Bush" bulletin. She and her husband maintained a garden of 200 roses specializing in Heritage roses. Survivors include her daughter, Marlene "Molly" Bassett of Portland, fater, Albert Wagner of Portland, and sister Myrna Wagner of Corvallis. She was preceded in death by her husband Gary in April 1991 in Corvallis.
