About | Margaret Lynn Kelsay, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025, in Puyallup, Washington. She was 82 years old. Born on February 22, 1943, in Panama to Burton and Barbara Kelsay, Margaret’s early life was marked by adventure as her family worked on the Panama Canal. At just one year old, her image was featured in a Red Cross War Fund campaign, a fitting start to a life dedicated to service and care for others. She spent her formative years in Joseph and Corvallis, Oregon, where she attended high school before embarking on a career in public safety. Margaret found her calling as a police dispatcher in both Lebanon and Enterprise, Oregon. She began as a meter maid before transitioning to dispatch, where she was also deputized. Her commitment to her work and community made a lasting impact on those she served. A creative soul, Margaret expressed herself through knitting, painting, and crafting unique pieces for family and friends. She also had a deep passion for photography and ancestry research, always cherishing connections to the past while capturing the beauty of the present. Margaret made her home in Fall City, Washington, in 2013 before settling in Bonney Lake in 2020. She is survived by her children, Mark (Phyllis) Egner, David (Barb) Egner, and Deena Jamison; her sisters, Ellen Shiroyama and Jean Pietz; as well as four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Burton and Barbara Kelsay, and her brother, Roger Kelsay. Margaret’s warmth, creativity, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed. A celebration of life will be held in June 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honor to a charity of choice. |
