Graduation Year Class of 1950
Date of Passing Feb 02, 2013
About Dorathy A. Mashman (Dottie), 80 of Yuma, Prescott Valley, various Escapee RV parks and remote camping spots all over the West passed away peacefully from cancer on Saturday, Feb 2nd. She died without pain or medication. Born in June of 1932 in Corry Pennsylvania, Dottie was truly an amazing woman. She was an exceptional mechanical and electrical engineer with a keen sense of how things work. Dottie did not fix things that were broken; she made them better than new. Last summer you might have seen her under a 1965 GMC truck/camper rebuilding a steering box or replacing a port-a-potty with a toilet complete with a holding tank and all the fittings required in an RV resort. You might also have seen her eight feet down a hole she dug with a pick and shovel to replace a broken pipe. She clearly was 80 going on 50. We were all shocked when she became ill in early January. Dottie was always on the other side of illness helping friends and strangers with their life threating illnesses. She married Abe Mashman in 1966 and they spent their lives together fishing, gold mining, camping, helping others, working and just being funhogs. For many years they had an RV lifestyle helping create several Escapee RV parks. Dottie started an SOS fix-it group at their Coarsegold Escapee RV park. She also wrote several technical articles for the Escapee Magazine. Dottie spent time seeking gold, but the world really lost a treasure. Dottie wasn%u2019t the type to have a service. If you like, send a donation to Hospice of Yuma. They insured she died with a smile. Known lovingly as WSM, the Wicked Step Mother, she leaves behind Ed Mashman, Sandi Davisson and Mel Mashman.

Kind regards,
Mel Mashman
