| About Me | I arrived in the Spokane area in 1975 while serving in the U. S. Air Force and stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base. I was later stationed at Elmendorf AFB, Alaska and left the Air Force in 1980. I returned to Spokane, and after a four year break in service, I joined the Washington Air National Guard at Fairchild AFB. I served for a total of twenty years in the Security Police/Security Forces field and retired in 1999. In 1995 I hired on with the Washington State Dept. of Corrections as a correctional officer. I served for twenty-two years and retired in 2017. Besides my regular duties of supervising inmates and enforcing prison rules, I also served as an instructor in the corrections academy and on the the Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Team. Now that I'm retired, I serve as a volunteer with the Spokane Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS). I also volunteer with the Inland Northwest Rail Museum.
