I hate drama , and especially hate conflict. I always try to be the first to apologize, and I don't stay angry long unless you really really hurt me. I love to make others laugh, and love it even better when I'm laughing along with the others. I am an Arteriovenous Malformation Survivor. I was born with a tangled mess of arteries and veins in a sort of underdeveloped cavity on the left side of my brain which gave me pretty much no problems for years. I survived a hemorrhagic stroke due to the AVM on Jan 17th, 2010 at the age of 22 when my brain decided to bleed about the size of a half dollar. With the help of caring friends I was taken to the ER, and as soon as possible was put into ICU at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. I have undergone two embolization surgeries this year for the bleed, which means I have had two coils in my brain that are thinner than angel hair pasta. In March I had a craniotomy done to remove the tangled mess of an AVM, and now I am doing just fine thanks to the wonderful staff who worked on me! If you ever have brain issues UNMC is the place to be and Dr. Surdell is definitely one of the amazing neurosurgeons there! There isn't a day in my life that I am not thankful for.
