About Me	I went to Jr. College as a music major, graduated as a General Education minor. I married into a wealthy famiily in 1979 and lived a pretty pretentious lifestyle. We were heavily involved in golf and traveled pretty extensively throughout the world. Although I lived what seemed a pretty glamorous life, I knew something was missing. I had a huge hole in my life and heart. I began working as a surveyor with the Darrell Survery Co. on most all of the golf tours; PGA, Sr. PGA, LPGA and 2nd tours. I took up golf at 24 and turned Pro in 1991 at 31. I joined the PGA of America and worked as an Apprentice Professional and Golf Shop Manager and Buyer from 91 through 98. I received Christ as my Lord and Savior in 1991 as well as seperated from my husband at that time. We divorced and in 1995 and I met the love of my life at a Single's Bible Study. My husband Steve persisted for 2 years in trying to date me; I resisted, and in the end God won! We married in 1998 and although I had been barren for many years, God miraculously healed and blessed my womb with beautiful sons. I was hospitalized with the birth of our 1st for 3 weeks as he was a preemie. We made the decision as a family for me not to go back to working full time in the Golf Industry, but rather to stay at home with our boys(We had our 2nd 20 months later). For 2 1/2 years we have been serving on short term mission trips with the Ministry of Hands of Mercy. Nearly 18 months ago the Lord called us to serve full time with this ministry and move to Mexico full time. We were commisioned as missionaries last July and pray that if it is God's will, we'll be living in Mexico full time this fall. Hands of Mercy gives prefabricated loft homes to the homeless in Mexico. We usually spend about 2 weeks a month in Mexico at a Camp/Retreat center that the Ministry has built there. In July we will be spending time in Mexico with Carol and Tim Cantwell. Carol still remains one of my very best friends as well as my sister in Christ. Their Church, Rock Harbor, has offerred to build our home in Mexico for us. Debbie Filber s...(read more)
