Isling Cuffe (2010)

What is known for?

Aisling Cuffe, a celebrated long-distance runner, was born on September 12, 1993, in Cornwall, New York. She turned professional in 2016 and has since made impressive strides in her career.

During her time at Cornwall Central High School, she became a two-time winner of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Division A state cross country titles in 2009 and 2010. Additionally, she was a seven-time New York state champion and won the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships in 2010. She was even named the Gatorade cross country runner of the year in New York for 2010-11.

Her career continued to flourish in college with the Stanford Cardinal team, where she emerged as a three-time Pac-12 champion. She made a significant mark in the 2014 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships, finishing second in the 5000 meters category with a time of 15:37.74.

Representing her country on the global stage, Cuffe placed 2nd in the 5000 meters event at the 2009 Pan American Junior Athletics Championships. At the 2012 World Junior Championships in Athletics, she clinched the 6th spot in the 3000 meters race. She also had a commendable performance in the 2011 IAAF World Cross Country Championships Junior women's race, placing 17th.

At the US Championships, she has consistently showcased her running prowess. Most notably, she championed the 5000m event at the USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships in 2009, and she triumphed again in 2011, winning the 6000m race at the USA Cross Country Championships Junior.

Off the track, Cuffe married Collin Leibold on September 16, 2018. As of today, she continues to inspire with her relentless perseverance and unparalleled performances in long-distance running.
