About | Mavis L. Ingalls Obituary Mavis L. Ingalls, 79 of Winter (now Jefferson), passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Jefferson Memory Care. Mavis was born on May 31, 1945, in Holcombe, WI, the daughter of Manley and Margaret (Funnemark) Craker. She grew up in Holcombe and graduated from Cornell High School in 1963. In 1964, she married and had 2 children and later divorced. In May of 2002, Mavis married Dennis Ingalls in Janesville, and the couple enjoyed 17 years of marriage until his death in 2019. Mavis was an avid seamstress and knew everything to know about sewing machines. She could mend any article of clothing, taught many people how to sew and use their machine, and could fix any model. She made clothing, potholders, and many other creations. Mavis also worked a number of paying jobs over the years, including managing the Singer Store and Stop-n-Go. She loved gardening and was known to give garden tours upon her guest’s arrival. Feeding the birds was also an enjoyed activity. Mavis had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. She always had a clean house and enjoyed entertaining. She had the “gift of gab” and was never seen in public without her hair and makeup perfect. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much and she will be dearly missed. She is survived by: her children Amy (Karl) Allen of Janesville and Jeffrey (Erika) Winchel of Brooklyn; grandchildren Ashley, Mackenzie, Alex (Corrina), Joshua, Elijah, David (Cassi), Brooke (Devon), Paul, and Grant (Katie); great-grandchildren Jordan, Jayson, Andre’, Kyleigh, Xavyer, Isaac, Gracie, Neo, Isabella, David, King, Lily, and Kino; as well as other family members and friends. Mavis is preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings Robert Craker, Donald Craker, Marilyn Beaudin, and other family members. The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff of Jefferson Memory Care for the loving care provided. An open house celebrating Mavis’ life will be held from 11:00AM – 2:00PM on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the Olsen-Gibson Funeral Home of Jefferson with a luncheon served at 12:00PM. |
