Several events are planned.... ~ Coosa High School Class of 1986 ~ 25th Year Reunion ~ 2011 Thursday, October 27th 2011: Buffalo’s Café, 440 Shorter Ave, 6 pm. Join us for dinner so we can spend as much time as possible with classmates coming in from out of town. This will be a pay for your own dinner! We will need a head count by Thursday, October 20th so we can get a table reserved. Friday, October 28th: CHS Home game against Armuchee 5:30/6:00 Tailgate CHS parking lot, we will be in the area behind the school gym. We will have a table set up along with all the paper products & soft drinks being supplied. So just bring the following: ~ “tailgate food” to share ~ lawn chairs or blanket 7:00 Game time Tickets can be purchased at gate before game. Or days before at the High School for a slight discount. We will have a section for us to all sit together. If you still attend the games, please give up your regular seat & join us for this game to sit as a group. At this point, we are not sure of the section we will be sitting in. But we will try our best to make it noticeable…maybe even give word at the ticket stand as to where we are located at. After the game join us at Los Portales on Shorter Ave / Alabama Hwy, across from old West Rome Kroger. Let us know during the game if you plan to attend & we will call ahead for a table. Saturday, October 29th: Family Picnic: 11am ~ 2pm Bring your family and a picnic to our ole' stomping grounds ……..Coosa High School. We will chat a little then we will get settled to have lunch around 11:30 Then we will get a tour of the school to show your family where you, crammed for that final exam, played your final game. Or maybe where you got into trouble and sent to the principal's office. Saturday, October 29th: 25th Year Reunion: 5 pm ~ 12 mid-night To be held at The Palladium, located at 69 Church St, Rome, GA. 30161 Schedule of events: 5 pm ~ Arrive Receive nametags, visit and take a walk down memory lane with our memory table and lots of old photos. 6:15 pm ~ Class photo We want everyone in the group photo, so be sure to arrive by photo time! 7:00 pm ~ Dinner This will be a sit down style dinner with 1 or possibly 2 entrees, 2 or 3 sides along with salad, bread & dessert. We truly feel you will be pleased with everything. After dinner we will have music for dancing and entertainment up until midnight. So come join us for a night of remembering our younger years! The dress for this event is dressy casual….mostly casual. We want everyone to come and be comfortable so, just dress to your comfort. Yes, jeans are fine. The cost for reunion is $30 per person, $60 per couple. Sorry for the increase from our 20th. The location & food itself is higher than any past reunions we have had. Please mail all payments along form for the reunion & picnic by September 15th, 2011. NW Rome, Ga. 30165 Sunday, October 30th 2011 Fuddruckers, 595 Riverside Pkwy Rome 1:00 pm In the years past flowers have been placed on the graves of our classmates. Along with cards being sent to the families to let them know that we still think & honor their loved one during our gatherings. During our 20th year reunion, a group of us went to visit their parents & gave them a small gift from our class. We truly think they enjoyed the visit. So this year we would like to invite their parents to have lunch with us. We hope that you, your family & even your parents would join us all for lunch on this day. We choose this location, for the fact that it is a “self serve” style restaurant. So we would not have trouble being served with what we hope to be a large group. We plan to reserve the back room. This started as an attempt to help the class of 1981 get a reunion together and it has evolved into a school wide event. What we need now is to get organized and most importantly, get the class officers involved in helping. So, what I need is a check-off of sorts; what classes are represented here, and whether officers are on board with this. What I am thinking is that we want to make sure that the classes who are close to a regular reunion time, have the option of having private events, as well as public "all school" events. So I was thinking we can ALL meet at the football game Friday night (Homecoming Game) and then have a meeting place afterwards. Then, we can have a breakfast the next morning with the group and then leave Saturday evening open for any specific class events. How does this sound? So, I need you guys to let me know what class you are from, and get together and figure out who will represent that class (class officers first choice of course) and then we can go from there. Comments? Feedback? I am sending this out via FB mail, and I will also post this on our wall. I am also letting you guys know that I have created a gmail address for people who are not on FB to use.
