What is Cory Aldridge known for?

Born on June 13, 1979 in San Angelo, Texas, Cory Jerome Aldridge is an American former professional baseball outfielder who made his mark in the sporting world. Drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the fourth round of the 1997 Major League Baseball Draft, Aldridge had an impactful career with multiple teams where he showcased his batting prowess.

His Major League Baseball (MLB) debut was on September 5, 2001, for the Atlanta Braves, and he made his last appearance on July 11, 2010, for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. In his time with the MLB, Aldridge held a batting average of .056 and managed to rack up one Run Batted In (RBI), despite not landing any home runs.

His baseball journey took him overseas to the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO), where he played for the Nexen Heroes in 2011. During this stint, he boasted a batting average of .237, knocked out 20 home runs, and contributed 73 RBIs.

In 2009, Aldridge put up impressive numbers playing for the Greenville Jacks. In 115 games, he had his most productive season at any level, batting .292 with 31 home runs and 102 RBIs.

Throughout his career, Aldridge also played for the Kansas City Royals' organization for the Triple-A Omaha Royals, signed a minor-league contract with the Baltimore Orioles in 2012, and later joined the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He was also briefly part of the Toronto Blue Jays and was promoted from the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats to the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons.

Apart from his noteworthy baseball career, Aldridge comes from a lineage of athletes. His father, Jerry Aldridge, was a halfback for the prestigious American football team, the San Francisco 49ers.
