LARRY EUGENE BUTTERFIELD
Class of 1965
Life on earth is a strange place, you never know what to expect. I never thought I would be in the Army, but in July of 1966 I was on a plane flying to Ft Ord, Ca for basic training. Then I was sent to Ft Gordon, Ga. for Advanced Individual Training, 7 months later I went to Frankfort, Germany for duty station. While there I explored Spain, Austria, France, England, Ireland and Norway with a stop in Switzerland. I returned to the USA in July of 1970, and finished out my tour at Ft. Huachuchia, Az. I seperated from the Army on 20 July 1970 and returned to Coolidge, Az. to resume my life. I went to CAC for a year, then went to making some money. I worked for Foxworth-Galbraith for 15 years in Coolidge then 3 more in Mesa. Moved to Tucson in 1986 and got married in 1987. Worked several places, watched several places either close or be sold. Got divorced in 2001,moved back to Coolidge, then to Casa Grande 2003, I have been here since, retired in 2018. It has been a long road just to go 25 miles. I enjoy my retirement. Slow and steady!!!!
