| About Me | I spent two years at Black Hawk College where I majored in Animal Science and Minored in Horse Science. After so many years of school I needed a break so I went to work at Turfway Downs and River Downs as a groom and a jockey. After an accident on the track I left the racing life behind. I enjoyed the fast pace of life of fast horses so I went to work at a Cutting Horse Farm in Greensburg, IN. I was the farm manager there for a year and a half. Then in 1992 my life was turned upside down. I learned that I had a rare genetic disorder called Marfans Syndrome. Even thou this explained a lot of my health problems throughout my life I was not ready to hear that I would never be able to become a Horse Veterinarian or a mother. I inherited Marfans from my mother Jeannette Kuhn Hubbell. Then in June of 1992 Mom had an Aortic Dissection due to the Marfans. I felt as if my life was spinning out of control. Mom was given a 2% chance of surviving, but after 5 LONG weeks in the hospital she came home. I met my husband, Phillip at the hospital while I was staying with Mom and he was staying with his Dad. I took care of Mom until I married Phillip on September 26, 1992. Phillip lived in Cleveland, TN and where we returned to build our life together. I worked as a small animal vet tech for several years until I had to retire from my job in 1998 due to my health problems that was stemmed to my Marfans. Then in December 1998 Phillip and I started raising a rare dog breed called Mi-Ki [pronounced Mee-Kee]. We have worked very hard over the last 11 years to breed the best quality of this wonderful companion toy breed. You are welcome to learn more about us and our Mi-K...(read more) |
