A Highland St. neighbor and childhood playmate from the only Italian family on an Irish block. One of the group that played touch football on the street on Sundays after dinner and built dugout forts in the field and woods between Highland Street and the Boston and Main train tracks. His mother was very generous to us kids. She gave us our first taste of a real Italian spaghetti sauce.
