About Event

Our 50th high school reunion is set for Friday night, June 22, 2012 at the Sand Hills Country Club in Campbell. The “all school” reunion is Saturday, June 23. Mark your calendars accordingly. We plan on having a golf outing for those of you who are interested on Friday afternoon, June 22 (before the party). We plan on inviting the class before us and the class after us, ’61 & ’63 since most of you know them and are current friends/spouses. Plan you vacations around this event. The reunion committee has reviewed the surveys that were sent earlier and designed our reunion to reflect the desires of the majority. Our reunion party will be more of a social (no dance) where we sit at tables visiting and recalling old times. There will be no formal dinner, so you must eat before you come, but there will be food/snacks for everyone to enjoy. We won’t be furnishing drinks (soft or hard) since everyone typically has their own preference. The club has a bar, so you will have to purchase your drink there. There will not be a band unless we can get some of our classmates to play/sing something. However, we will have some “oldies” music in the background to help you remember. We are assembling some old pictures and things of interest, we should have fun. The dress will be casual and we will even have a well-known motivational speaker to get us in the right mood (also known as Kenny King). We don’t want you to sit at one table all night, we want you to move from table to table and socialize. This social will be Friday night, 7:00pm to 10:00pm. We figure that after 3 hours, you will fall asleep, but you can stay as late as you wish or until the club closes. If you plan on playing golf on Friday afternoon, you must contact Jim Ablowich or Kent Humphries because they will need a count to arrange with the club. If you don’t play golf, you are welcome to come early and help with decorations, setup, etc. The activity of decorating/setup can be meaningful and fun. If you plan on coming to the Friday night social, please be courteous enough to contact me or Ronnie Alexander so that we too can get a count for food, tables, etc. If you are from out of town and plan on spending the night, hotel information is down below. We have to pay $400 to get the room at the club house plus food, so we are asking for any donations that you can spare. We are suggesting $20 per person, but we also do not want you to “not come” because of money. If you feel that $20 is too much then donate what you can and come on. If you can you’re your money in early, great, if not you can donate at the door. Any monies left over after paying for room/food/mailings/etc will be given to CHS. Other classes that attend will be asked the same thing. If you need a ride or need help getting there, contact me. We can set the party up, but it is you that make the party. The more of you that come, the more fun we will have.
