About	Josephine (Iennaco) Calvanese, 88, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2017 at her home. She was a lifelong resident of Springfield and was the daughter of the late Alfonso and Anna (Sarno) Iennaco. Josephine worked as a secretary after graduating from the High School of Commerce in 1942. She was a long time member and communicant of Mary Mother of Hope Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister, Parish Council member, and a decade long secretary of the Church’s Women’s Club. Josephine was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank A. Calvanese; and her brothers, Frank and Vincent Ienacco. She leaves her children, Alphonse Calvanese and his wife Debra of Longmeadow, MA, Frances Ferguson and her husband Gary of Chatham, MA, Robert Calvanese and his wife Sherre of Woodstock, GA, Joanne Lipton and her husband Jeffrey of Somers, CT, Suzanne Calvanese of Somers, CT, and Vincent Calvanese of Springfield, MA. She also leaves her 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren of whom she took great pride. They will remember her most for her delicious cooking and storytelling. She enjoyed endless conversations with her many friends and family. She will be greatly missed. Services are entrusted to Forastiere Smith Funeral Home and will be private at the convenience of the family.
